A trailer has been released for the second of Zac Snyder’s Rebel Moon films.

Part Two: The Scargiver sees Kora (Sofia Boutella) and her rebels unexpectedly facing Admiral Atticus Noble (Ed Skrein) - an enemy they thought they’d defeated. He’s back from the grave and about to bring the full force of the Motherworld down on the villagers of the Veldt, setting up an epic battle.

Snyder himself has described Part Two as “…a war film, 100%” and tells fans to expect way more action than Part One.

The first film received mixed reactions with critics describing the storyline as a mashup of various sci-fi tropes, although the film’s scale and visual effects were more universally praised. Some also felt too much time was spent setting up the sequel.

Director's cuts of both movies are expected for release shortly after Part Two, with Snyder promising all the gore, violence and nudity that initially got left out.

Rebel Moon – Part Two: Scargiver premieres on Netflix April 19.
