Adam Sandler goes to space in upcoming move Spaceman.

Sandler plays astronaut Jakub who is sent on a long solo mission to the edge of the galaxy. Unsurprisingly, the isolation begins to get to him until at some point a giant space spider appears to keep him company.

Jakub is initially concerned that the telepathic spider is a symptom of his mental deterioration but accepts its help in working through his emotional issues, stemming from the breakdown of the marriage he left behind on Earth.

All the while the mission – to collect samples of a mysterious dust – must continue.

Based on the novel Spaceman of Bohemia by Jaroslav Kalfař, the film is helmed by Chernobyl director Johan Renck. Sandler is joined by cast members Paul Dano, Carey Mulligan and The Big Bang Theory’s Kunal Nayyar.

Spaceman premieres on Netflix March 1.
