A final trailer has been released from upcoming AI thriller The Creator.

Set in the not too distant future, the movie picks up in the midst of a war between humans and the AI-powered devices originally created for our protection. It turns out the robots went rogue and now they’re on the brink of deploying a super-weapon that would end humanity.

Hardened special forces agent Joshua, played by Tenet’s John David Washington, is sent in to neutralise the weapon, but he baulks when he discovers it’s in the form of a young girl. Washington is joined in a heavy-hitting cast by stars such as Ken Watanabe and Allison Janney.

Producer and director Gareth Edwards previously worked on Monsters and Godzilla, the first film in Legendary’s Monsterverse.

The Creator is due in cinemas September 28.
