The third game in formerly Sega's and now Nintendo's Bayonetta action adventure series has been given a release date along with a new cinematic and gameplay trailer.

This is a series we hadn't even heard of until recently but anticipation for the latest entry is high and that's not surprising given how loved the first two were by critics.

Our ignorant (of the franchise) perspective?

Visually it's impressive.

Story is another multiverse tale which everyone and their dog seems to be doing this year, so they're not breaking new ground.

Question is, will they do anything remarkable with it?

Combat is often difficult to judge from trailers and that's the case here, though we've heard very high praise heaped on earlier games for this element so it would be reasonable to expect the same.

Bayonetta 3 will release on October 28 exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
