At Phoenix Fan Fusion pop-culture convention on the weekend, voice of Futurama's Bender, John DiMaggio, revealed that he was not successful in negotiating for higher pay for either himself or other cast during the Bendergate pay standoff earlier this year.

He also informed fans of how Hulu had planned to proceed without him - with Bender voiced by a different guest star each episode.

Bender being a robot they could probably have pulled that off with something as simple as a malfunctioning voice unit.

DiMaggio said:

But listen, this was the best thing about that fight: I had Disney, Hulu, I was holding on to their collective testicles so hard that they couldn't, y'know, there was nowhere for them to go. But there was also nowhere for me to go, and who wants to hold on to those for that long?

This newest Futurama revival is expected to release in 2023.
