After yesterday sitting through a nine minute commercial masquerading as a short film we were amused to find ourselves staring at another piece of misleading content today.

Netflix have released a trailer and poster for Cliff Beasts 6: The Battle for Everest.

If you're wondering how you happened to never have heard of Cliff Beasts 1 through 5, that's because they're a fiction within a fiction.

Netflix's upcoming The Bubble is a comedy film shot during the pandemic, about trying to shoot a film during a pandemic and that film is Cliff Beasts 6.

Starring some well known faces in sci-fi, Karen Gillan (Doctor Who's Amelia Pond), David Duchovny (X-Files' Fox Mulder), Pedro Pascal, (Game of Thrones' Oberyn Martell and The Mandalorian's The Mandalorian) and Leslie Mann (The Power's Margot Cleary-Lopez).

People fighting off giant lizards though?

That sounds familiar.

How many Jurassic Park films have there been?

Five.

So Jurassic World: Dominion which releases June 9 would be number 6.

Haha.

Coming back to that ridiculous nine minute Fortnite commercial, Netflix make and stream TV and films.

That's exactly what people expect to find on their YouTube channel and while Cliff Beasts 6 isn't a real film, it is in and a promotion for a real one.

This kind of thing seems to be very in vogue right now.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is a tabletop fantasy roleplaying game inside of a sci-fi roleplaying computer game and releases March 25.

The Bubble releases on Netflix on April 1.

Pixar's Lightyear is a film about the "real" Buzz Lightyear in the fictional Toy Story universe which inspired the line of toys which produced the Buzz Lightyear seen in earlier films, and releases on June 16.
