A first look at the second Dune movie has been released and it’s exactly as epic as you’d expect.

When we last saw Timothee Chalamet’s character Paul Atreides he had just won leadership of the Fremen. The trailer suggests he’s considering revenge against Baron Harkonnen and that he may well have an army to achieve it.

But first he must consolidate his leadership, and what better way to do that than to ride one of the giant Arrakis sandworms.

Meanwhile, the Harkonnens are beginning to suspect that Paul may not be dead after all.

Chalamet is joined by returning cast members Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin and Stellan Skarsgård, along with new additions Forence Pugh as Princess Irulan and Austin Butler as principal villain Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen.

Director Denis Villenue appears to have taken significant artistic license with this character, as Butler’s striking portrayal is significantly different to Frank Herbert’s novel and that of former pop-star Sting, who played the character in the 1984 David Lynch version.

Dune Part Two is due in cinemas later this year from November 3.
