Evolving Resident Evil
Posted By:

Fresh from Netflix we have a five minute video about their upcoming Resident Evil series.

The title's "evolving" is what you might expect - addressing changes in this series from earlier entries in a prolific franchise.

Those changes haven't been universally appreciated.

Video Games Chronicle reported in early June that the show's teaser on Netflix's YouTube channel received 13 000 likes and 28 000 dislikes.

It's now 51 000 likes and 265 000 dislikes.

What's the fuss about?

Differences in this series from the games.

Our perspective is that of someone who has only seen the films starring Milla Jovovich as Alice, a newly created character.

Grossing over a billion dollars US those films demonstrate that departures from gaming source material can be successful.

We've been impressed by trailers and are keen to see Resident Evil which releases on Netflix on July 14th.

On a related note film reboot Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City (2021) recently arrived on Prime Video.

Boasting a moderately high profile cast but poor writing, directing and B grade special effects, we wouldn't recommend it.
