While several big name directors have now pooped on the notion of ever making a superhero film, in a recent Explain This with Esquire, Keanu Reeves was asked if he was ever going to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

He responded less poopily.

Isn't it bigger than a universe? It's almost like a multiverse. It's a Marvel-verse.

It would be an honour. There's some really amazing directors and visionaries and they're doing something no-one's really ever done especially in that sense. In terms of the scale, the ambition, the production.

It would be cool to be a part of that.

So offer the man a role.

There's plenty of room in the recently recovered X-Men side of the MCU.

He also responded to a range of other questions including what was the most surreal thing about playing Neo?

He's never had the chance to play a role 15, 16, 17 years later.

The film is about the idea of past and memory and fiction and reality and truth and and...

Speaking of memory, Bill and Ted - 1989, 1991, 2020.

Keanu has had a prolific and likely exhausting career. Bound to forget a few things. All that matters is that he can remember his lines.

Will Smith turning down the role of Neo?

Well it changed my life and it was such a wonderful creative experience.

To play Neo in The Matrix trilogy and now in the fourth, it impacted my life personally and creatively. Thank you very much.
