Not available in Australia Hulu, have released a trailer for their upcoming film, Mother/Android.

Details on the movie had been very light. This trailer is illuminating.

It seems like a more sci-fi and potentially believable take on the typical zombie apocalypse.

Instead of a biological virus transforming humans into ravenous and mindless man-eating beasts, in a near future where androids are common household appliances, something causes them to become homicidal.

Apocalypse follows.

In a storyline which would slot easily into any zombie tale, Chloë Grace Moretz, who plays the title's mother, is trying to travel to a city she believes to be a safe place.

To reach it they need to pass through android central.

Zombie apocalypse titles are numerous and this is an interesting take on it.

Albeit much less sophisticated, household robots are now a thing.

It will be fascinating to see how people react to this film.

Mother/Android will release on Hulu in the US on December 17. Australian release details not presently known but it doesn't appear to be heading to cinemas.
