However, we should point out that the race operators are an England based company and according to their own website Airspeeder is:

The world's first racing series for manned flying electric cars.

This race was unmanned. Remote controlled.

Bit cheeky?

We're guessing that someone else was potentially going to beat them to the first manned race and this is how they held onto a precious "first" claim.

Regardless it's fascinating to watch this emerging technology and this is happening here in Australia.
