Paper Binned

Amazon have promptly tossed Paper Girls into the bin a little over a month after its release on July 29.

It scored well with both critics and viewers on Rotten Tomatoes, but receiving only 441 audience ratings suggests very low viewership.

Not feeling any sense of nostalgia for the 80s we passed on this one so can't comment on quality.

Deadline suggest that the series was overshadowed by Amazon's The Rings of Power, but these are quite different programs released over a month apart.

The program it might be most like is Netflix's Stranger Things whose final two episodes released on July 1.

If absence makes the heart grow fonder, maybe this series would have benefitted from releasing mid-way between Stranger Things seasons 4 and 5.

Paper Girls' first and for now only series is streaming now on Amazon.

Its production company Legendary Television are shopping it around to other providers.
