Sci-Fi Slot Machines

Scified has published an unusual piece on sci-fi franchises and gambling.

Throughout are statements which make it clear that they're knowledgeable about and pro gambling.

Which is not everyone's cup of tea.

They reel off a bunch of popular sci-fi franchises at the beginning then go on to detail some which have apparently licensed themselves out for this use, eg. Aliens, Terminator 2, Battlestar Galactica and Cowboys and Aliens.

What is slightly reassuring in this piece is what's not said.

Backbone of the sci-fi genre franchises like Star Trek, Star Wars and Stargate are not among them.

But was this piece a comprehensive review of sci-fi slot machines?

No.

A quick google revealed that all have splashed themselves across slot machines. So has the younger but very popular Avatar.

Being owned by the BBC we'd expect Doctor Who not to go there and seemingly they're not to be found in Vegas presently but there is video footage of an old Doctor Who "fruit machine" which is apparently what they're called in the UK.

Use of these franchises in gambling is not something we had ever considered before but there they are.
