For much of our time writing for this blog, Netflix has been one of the most prolific sources of sci-fi trailers. Feels like an age since we've seen anything from them.

Now there's the season 2 trailer for a surprise favourite of ours, Sweet Tooth. How exciting.

If you recommended to us some new post-apocalyptic series about furry and antlered human / animal hybrid children we might pull a slight face.

But this one delighted and surprised in ways we would not have imagined.

Without spoiling anything, it sets out from a familiar foundation and as only science-fiction can, takes viewers on a journey which invites them to consider a real world issue from a fresh angle.

We loved the first season and can't wait to see the second.

Season 2 of Sweet Tooth will release on Netflix on April 27.
