Just yesterday we were puzzling over the lack of a confirmed release date for Netflix's animated Cyberpunk: Edgerunners series and today we finally have one, along with a new trailer.

It's titled Official NSFW Trailer. You've been warned.

Once upon a time we harboured hope for this series but each successive trailer paints a picture of, well, the kind of anime we're not into.

Crazy, random.

Full of violence and weird sex shit.

This is now a very easy pass for us.

We're also skeptical about their use of the term cyberpunk in this trailer.

You don't make a name as a cyberpunk by how you live.

You're remembered by how you die.

That notion of fame being tied to death is a strong theme in the action roleplaying video game Cyberpunk 2077 set in the same universe.

But we don't recall anyone referring to themselves as a "cyberpunk".

Like that's a descriptive term from our present day perspective and applies to the franchise but it isn't used within it.

Except in this trailer.

No-one in Star Wars refers to "star wars".

They're only "star" wars from our present day real world perspective because we're planet bound.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners will release on Netflix on September 13.
