Spinoff game Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora launches this week.

The game is set in a completely different part of Pandora than we’ve seen in the movies so far – the western frontier. Players take on the role of a Na’vi orphan recently freed from the RDA who works with the locals fighting to free Pandora.

The game’s timeline is set after Avatar: The Way of Water opens, but before the one-year time cut in the movie.

Frontiers is a first-person open-world game. Combat using both traditional Na’vi as well as captured RDA weapons offers an FPS experience, while the ability to freely roam Pandora either on foot or flying on the back of a banshee also offers an RPG experience. Players can choose which gameplay suits them best.

Gsme studio Massive Entertainment has been busy not just with this game but also Star Wars Outlaws, which is due out sometime in 2024.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will be available from December 7 on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
