Doctor Who in Fortnite

Back in January there was a Doctor Who event in Eve Online which from our perspective was a bit of a yawn so we didn't comment on it.

Now, however, the BBC have launched something much more interesting in Epic's Fornite Creative.

John Carter Kickstarter

Last week fantasy author Brandon Sanderson made headlines by revealing that during COVID lockdown he'd managed to write four extra novels and promptly rocketed to Kickstarter's top funded project with a plan to self-publish. Presently $36 million (AU) and several weeks yet to go.

Sci-fi roleplaying video game John Carter: Warlord of Mars'  is not enjoying the same kind of success. With a goal of $750 thousand (AU) they presently only have $8 thousand.

Dolmen Release Date

Right now everyone is talking about fantasy roleplaying Souls-like Elden Ring, eg. nearing a million concurrent Steam users and being trash talked by other developers for breaking the mould and setting new standards.

It has to be tough for other developers. Games typically take five plus years to develop and releasing into a market with changed expectations and tastes is not ideal.

A new update titled Couples doesn't explode the playing field and have you playing multiple couples. Rather players now have a choice of couples and those choices include same-sex pairings.

This time an indie PC sci-fi construction and simulation game called Rimworld which they had previously approved and which had been available and played here for four years in full release. Another five before that in early access.

Miju Games have announced an Early Access release date of March 24 for their unique survival and terraforming game, Planet Crafter. There's a short trailer.

We tried this one's demo during one of last year's Steam Next fests - FYI there's one running now, but only a few days left - and also the beta version. Enoyed it.

John Carter of Mars

Earlier this month we saw a Space.com article about a new John Carter of Mars comic book series which we thought not quite interesting enough for our purposes here.

Warning if you're at work or not into boobies, one of the covers shows them.
