System Shock Delayed

The remake of the 1994 first person action adventure PC game System Shock has been delayed from March - which you may have noticed is half over - to May 30.

For the standard reason - they want more time to work on it.

Stolen Sci-Fi?

Occasionally the sci-fi credential of upcoming games, films or series aren't completely clear until they release and one such is the recently released souls-like action roleplaying game Bleak Faith: Forsaken.

But it released and kind of bombed so our missing it seemed irrelevant until its developers were accused of stealing assets from last year's big hit, fantasy souls-like Elden Ring and earlier FromSoftware games.

Subversive Habits

Speaking ahead of Mrs. Davis' pre-release screening at Austin's SXSW event to The Hollywood Reporter, executive producers Tara Hernandez and Damon Lindelof have touched on the sometimes touchy topic of religion, as did we.

Saying that it felt "subversive and terrifying" to write a cool nun-heroine at a time when religious professionals are rarely viewed as heroic.

Sci-Fi Sweeps Oscars

Going in with a stellar spread of nominations this year, science fiction won nine out of twenty-three categories.

Mostly by Everything Everywhere All at Once with seven but also one each for Avatar: The Way of Water and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Amazon Rescues Batman

From that title you might surmise that Wonder Woman has hauled Bruce's butt out of some proverbial fire but in this instance the Amazon we're referring to is the streamer.

Last year HBO cancelled in development animated series Batman: Caped Crusader, and Amazon have snapped it up with a two season order.

RoboCop Delayed

First person shooter RoboCop: Rogue City has been delayed from June to September and as is often the way, we learn of this via a different date attached to their latest trailer.

They could have copy / pasted the stock standard seeking to produce a product of the highest quality standard type statement but why waste any of our time?

Shatner Shunned

A new Star Trek promotional poster is making headlines for its notable exclusion of original leading man, William Shatner as Captain Kirk.

Every other commanding officer or equivalent is featured but representing the original crew are Spock (Leonard Nimoy) and Uhura (Nichelle Nichols).

Star Wars Sued

Former Star Wars: The Acolyte producer Karyn McCarthy is suing Lucasfilm for breach of contract.

Having last year accepted their offer while also being actively courted by Apple for their series Sugar, she says she commenced work and was terminated two weeks later.
