System Shock Delayed
Posted By:

The remake of the 1994 first person action adventure PC game System Shock has been delayed from March - which you may have noticed is half over - to May 30.

For the standard reason - they want more time to work on it.

As you all know, we've taken the classic gameplay from the original game and added stunning HD visuals, revamped controls, and a totally new interface. The game features never-before-seen enemies, gameplay tweaks, and a new hacking system that'll keep you on your toes.

You'll be facing off against the infamous villain, SHODAN, once again, and trust us, it's a delightfully evil experience.

Your mission? To save Earth from certain doom! You'll need to use all your stealth, cunning, and futuristic weaponry to navigate the Citadel Station.

End of May potentially puts this title up against DC's Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League (May 26) which we thought looked impressive in Sony's most recent State of Play presentation, but which was broadly poorly received by the gaming community.

Primarily for its requring online connectivity to play even by oneself and their live service style battle pass with a premium paid tier.

Two separate and interestingly conflicting rumours suggest that developers Rock Steady are considering a delay to later this year not at all in relation to negative feedback from the community, or clear into 2024 with no accompanying explanation.

So end of May may be wide open for System Shock's PC release on May 30.

Its developers also promise news will follow on Xbox One and X|S, and PlayStation 4 and 5 versions.
