Ok this one isn't really sci-fi but it's adjacent and we think potentially of interest to sci-fi fans.

The animated film in question of questionable sci-fi credentials is Apollo 10 1/2: A Space Age Childhood and Netflix have released its trailer.

A man narrates stories of his life as a 10-year-old boy in 1969 Houston, weaving tales of nostalgia with a fantastical account of a journey to the moon.

It stars Jack Black, Zachary Levi (aka DC's Shazam whose sequel film has just been brought forward six months to December this year) and Glen Powell (Dave in Netflix's Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous).

As the trailer tells, this is the fantastical tale of a boy called on by NASA to pilot the moon landing after a wee whoopsie resulted in their constructing a vessel too small to be piloted by an adult.

Of course NASA making that mistake isn't believable but for the sake of comedy we could go along with it.

And it's quite a small mathematical mistake really compared to Spock's in Star Trek 2009 which resulted in the obliteration of the Romulan Empire.

But according to an article by The New Yorker, Apollo 10 1/2 is actually about a group of children watching and fantasizing about the historical moon landing in 1969.

In which case this trailer would have shown us just one of those fantasies.

Does that fit with the one-man narration description? We don't think so.

We would guess that Netflix's trailer and description on YouTube should be relied upon but maybe it is the other one.

Either way, or perhaps some other way entirely, Apollo 10 1/2: A Space Age Childhood releases on Netflix on April 1.
