Alpha gameplay footage has been published for a new "underwater survival city builder simulator" titled Aquatico.

Is it truly a survival game though?

Not as shown in this footage or as described on their Steam page.

It just looks like a city builder.

This footage looks decent but having set up the expectation of a survival element with its description, it necessarily disappoints.

Are there games which blend those two?

There's Ixion which we looked at briefly earlier this year.

Both Aquatico and Ixion are expected to release this year on PC (Steam).
