Australian actress Dichen Lachman (Severance, Jurassic World: Dominion, The 100, Dollhouse) has joined the cast of 20th Century's Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.

There are no details at this point about her role but this one is being filmed in Australia. Right now.

Many ape clans are established now, while humans have been reduced to a feral-like existence. One ape leader (Durand) enslaves and utilizes other clans in order to find and salvage human technology. Cornelius (Teague), son of Caesar, watches his clan be forced into slavery and embarks on a journey to free them. A human woman (Allan) becomes key to this, although she has plans of her own.

Good to see Dichen doing well and also back home.

In an interview last year she revealed that early in her career she felt forced to relocate to Hollywood because the only acting jobs going locally were Home and Away and period dramas.

There wasn't much demand for Asian actors.

We applaud her success and have enjoyed many of the shows and films she's appeared in, though don't hold her responsible for those we didn't like last year's Jurassic World: Dominion.

An actor can only do so much and that film was packed with major talent, none of whom could elevate the script.
