Ezra Miller Fired?
Posted By:

Numerous sites and also YouTubers are reporting that Ezra Miller aka The Flash in DC films has been fired by Warner Bros.

A particular Deadline article is cited and even quoted by some but it only says that their sources indicate he likely won't continue in that role.

Sources said even if no more allegations surface, the studio won’t likely keep Miller in the Flash role in future DC films. That would mean replacing him in the future, but there is still a $200 million investment on the line with the first film and Warner Bros execs have to be cringing at each new press report.

It appears that Deadline have edited that sentence, possibly multiple times, but none of the other versions we've found have him definitively fired.

Inside the Magic - one of the earlier sites reporting him having been fired - quotes it as this (bolding is ours):

Per Deadline:

“There is no winning in this for Warner Bros,” one studio source tells us. “This is an inherited problem for Zaslav [Warner Bros Discovery CEO David Zaslav]. The hope is that the scandal will remain at a low level before the movie is released, and hope for the best to turn out.” Sources said even if no more allegations surface, the studio is leaning toward not keeping Miller in the Flash role in future DC films. That would mean replacing him in the future, but Warner Bros execs have to be cringing at each new press report.

The WayBack Machine has this (bolding is ours):

“There is no winning in this for Warner Bros,” one studio source tells us. “This is an inherited problem for Zaslav. The hope is that the scandal will remain at a low level before the movie is released, and hope for the best to turn out.” In Zaslav’s plan to make DC an explosively successful division like Marvel under his newly structured studio, with its own new boss, the non-binary identifying Miller, we hear, is simply not a part of those plans going forward in the future universe regardless if there are more allegations or not.

Ezra's Troubles

We have been aware of his troubles for some time now and researched them for comment at one point but decided to wait.

Some of these incidents - described well by this latest Deadline piece - occurred in public and there's little doubt about their veracity.

Others are difficult to gauge, eg. the parents of 18 year old Takota Iron Eyes filing for a protection order on behalf of her daughter with some very serious allegations.

The daughter has personally in text and video denounced her parents, their claims and the press.

Honestly it's really distressing that the narrative of "the victim" in question is not being granted any trust.

Has she been brainwashed by Ezra as some suggest or are her parents acting maliciously and transphobically as she claims?

My father and his allegations hold no weight and are frankly transphobic and based in the notion that I am somehow incapable of coherent thought or opposing opinions to those of my own kindred worrying about my well being. I am now aware of the severity of emotional and psychological manipulation I was made to endure while in my parents home.

This could be an interesting case to follow and one we're keeping an eye on.

The Flash isn't scheduled to release until mid next year by which time we may know the truth of this matter.

That truth won't change the other incidents but this is arguably the most disturbing accusation levelled against him and if untrue may mean that he actually rescued this girl from abusive parents.

Would the studio want to have fired him in that instance?
