Stray, the game where you play as a cyberpunk kitty is everyone's darling right now. But what if you're a dog person?

Joining DC League of Super Pets: The Adventures of Krypto and Ace in the dog house is Space Tail: Every Journey Leads Home.

Following a trend we thoroughly approve of, its developers are releasing a free demo.

In this case a standalone prologue titled Space Tail: Lost in the Sands which will become available on Steam on August 12.

As you'd expect there's a trailer for both the prologue and the full game.

We don't play 2D puzzle platformers but if we had to play one we'd pick this.

It looks both gorgeous and adorable.

Possibly stretching the sci-fi friendship slightly there's also Lost and Hound by West Australian indie developer Daisy Ale Soundworks, who just announced an August 17 release date.

In Lost and Hound, your empowered canine senses make you a superhero.

We count superhero as sci-fi and it is homegrown, so hopefully you'll forgive us.

They also have a trailer and it's another Steam title.
