Halo Drone Promo
Posted By:

On Sunday evening during the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas, a drone swarm appeared in the skies and formed a giant, scannable QR code.

Some people appear to be but we're not impressed by this one.

Projecting a giant Sontaran ship onto a Liverpool pier head to promote Doctor Who was cool.

And most importantly, recognisable at least to Doctor Who fans.

A giant QR code in the sky?

Recognisable as a QR code but advertising is regarded by many as increasingly intrusive and a lot of people would have seen this and not felt even remotely inclined to scan it.

Advertising which requires effort to even see is just that much easier to ignore.

This one was for the upcoming Halo series which premiered at the festival and will release on Paramount+ on March 24.
