Immersive first or third person non-combat games or games with the ability to play non-lethally are becoming more popular. We love that.

Those Who Came: Healing Solarus is a gorgeous looking planet healer non-combat game.

A few weeks back they released a trailer for Gamescom and the world is beautiful but the footage gave no sense of gameplay and we couldn't quickly find any guides.

If we're going to comment on a game we obviously want some sense of how it plays.

Having now left early access on Steam, its publishers have released a gameplay overview trailer.

Unfortunately it's a bit sad.

The six minute trailer shows two puzzle types played repeatedly.

Neither puzzle is out in the world.

They're both in their own little puzzle UIs.

The first is a commonly seen line-up puzzle which doesn't evoke any sense of planet healing.

The second does, with at least a big flower in its middle and your goal is to protect its seed from corruption.

But effectively you're shooting laser beams at approaching corruption.

Do we object to that?

No but it is arguably a form of combat so immediately some players might be shaking their heads.

Their Steam description says "teamwork is key to success".

Where is that in this trailer?

Maybe there is more to its gameplay but it's up to the developers and publishers to show us what they've got in order to make sales.

That said, even out of early access and now fully priced, it's only $22 AUD.

With the original Avatar's cinematic re-release and the sequel coming in December, gamers looking to scratch their hippie alien itch might find some inexpensive satisfaction in this title.
