We see a trailer for a new Apple TV+ series with a man dressed in 50s era clothes standing in a 50s era room. Does not immediately strike us as sci-fi but its title Hello Tomorrow! tickles our sci-fi gland.

Worth a quick look. Doesn't take long for us to see a man jetpacking off into the sky and a dog being walked by a hovering robot. Bingo! Good work sci-fi gland.

In a retro-futuristic world, charismatic salesman Jack Billings (Emmy winner Billy Crudup) leads a team of fellow sales associates determined to revitalize their customers’ lives by hawking timeshares on the moon.

Another sci-fi dramedy. We do appreciate those. When they're good.

Trailer doesn't suck so that's a good start.

Australia's Jackie Weaver - seen in the trailer - has a recurring role as Barbara Billings.

It looks to be a big year for retrofuturism.

With mid-twentieth century North American settings we have Hello Tomorrow!, and releasing either this year or next, the Amazon series adaptation of the Fallout action roleplaying games.

Same era but with a Soviet setting - action adventure game Atomic Heart also releasing in February and narrative exploration game The Invincible.

Pedalling back to earlier centuries, soulslike action roleplaying game Lies of P and survival crafting game Nightingale.

Hello Tomorrow! premieres on Apple TV+ on February 17 with three episodes, and the remaining seven releasing weekly.
