Netflix have published a trailer but no release date for a new Kaiju (i.e. giant monster) series GAMERA -Rebirth-.

Though not Kaiju fans ourselves, we enjoyed the first Pacific Rim film and also the Netflix series spin off Pacific Rim: The Black.

Gamera, the giant monster which has been beloved by Kaiju fans across the globe since the 1960s, faces off against five enemy creatures across six episodes in this new animated series.

So Gamera appears to be an heroic take on Godzilla.

Is giant monsters trying to kill each other our idea of a good time?

Broken down to that level, it puts us in mind of animal fighting as sport which is definitely not something we approve of.

Though to be fair plenty of science-fiction entertainment involves people beating up and killing each other and we don't generally approve of that either.

Speaking about another recent Netflix anime promo we lamented not having any dialog by which to judge it.

This trailer at least gives us that and we can't see (it's subtitled) anything to complain about.

GAMERA -Rebirth- is coming to Netflix in 2023.
