Without any lovely screenshots or videos, a new single-player action horror Aliens game has been announced.

This new Aliens game will feature an original storyline, set between the Alien and Aliens films, where a battle hardened veteran has a vendetta against the Xenomorphs.

From this we would guess that it's set on the moon where in the first film they find the crashed ship and alien eggs, and in the second there's a colony.

And that the battle hardened veteran is one of the longer surviving colonists taking revenge for the deaths of their fellow colonists.

Who is the developer?

Survios.

Not a name we recognise and nothing leaps out from their list of games but it looks like a previous sci-fi VR title Raw Data was regarded as good and also financially successful.

Being the first Steam early access VR game to hit the $1 million mark in its first month and also the first VR game on Steam to reach overall first place in the top-seller charts.

Alien would have to be the film franchise best suited to the action horror gaming genre and in the hands of decent developer could be something worth keeping an eye on.

It's being developed for PC, VR and "console".
