Disney have released a teaser for upcoming limited series Obi-wan and while we're of the opinion that the franchise is in a very bad place right now, this gets the spirit and tone of Star Wars very right.

The Sith mercilessly seeking advantage in what they perceive as a Jedi weakness - compassion - is exactly what we'd expect of real Star Wars.

But that could be the crux.

Perception.

Is it only a perceived weakness or a real one?

Will Obi-wan remain Jedi or "learn" that it's good to be bad?

A recurring theme in present day entertainment, both in sci-fi and more broadly, is that a win by any means is justifiable.

Because the opposition is awful and better you than them, even if you can only win by being marginally less awful than them.

Hopefully this series doesn't go there.

Obi-wan premieres on Disney+ on May 25.
