In the weirdly appropriate on multiple levels category level today, we have a new trailer for Outcast 2 - A New Beginning.

Recently we've been thinking that Starfield and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora pushing their release dates into next year have left a bit of a sci-fi gaming hole.

There's still the Callisto Protocol in December but that's a very different - darker - kind of game.

Stargate SG-1's 25th anniversary came and went without even the quietest whisper of the long hoped for revival by new owners of MGM, Amazon.

Then we saw this trailer with its lush alien landscapes.

Something which looks a bit like a Stargate.

Ruins being explored.

Chanting in an Egyptian sounding language.

An ex-military (Navy SEAL) character with a sense of humour.

At the end being asked, "Do you want to know more?" like Starship Troopers' "Would you like to know more?"

Plus you can fly. Love that.

Even if it weren't scratching those particular itches the game itself looks fun, compelling and polished.

Its release date is currently listed as "Coming Soon" on PC (Steam and GOG), Xbox X|S and PS5.

Should it release before the end of year and if it's as good as it looks, this one might do well.
