If The Boys and Invincible aren't enough to satisfy your superhero itch on Prime Video, Sony have struck a deal with Amazon to develop series based on Marvel characters in their stable of over 900 characters.

The first will be a Spider-Man spinoff Silk: Spider Society with The Walking Dead's Angela Kang as showrunner.

What's this one about?

It follows Cindy Moon, a Korean-American woman bitten by the same spider that bit Peter Parker, as she escapes imprisonment and searches for her missing family on her way to becoming the superhero known as Silk.

As superhero series premises go, that's solid enough.

Angela Kang is coming straight to this from the role of showrunner for The Walking Dead's final three seasons.

Credentials don't get much shinier than that.

Prior to this she had been set to direct the Norman Reedus The Walking Dead spinoff so this is also a blow for AMC.

There's no ETA for this series yet but it's one we'll be keeping a keen eye on.
