Helen Shaver has been selected to direct NBC's pilot of the Quantum Leap "reboot".

Though it might be more accurate to call it a revival. This is a thirty-years-later continuation of the original series not a throw it all away and do it all again thing.

Helen's credentials are suitably sparkly for such a prestigious property and her directorial credits include sci-fi hits like Snowpiercer, Westworld and Travelers.

She also directed one episode of Stargate Universe but she can't be held responsible for that travesty of a show.

We note the language of the announcement. Pilot. She'll probably have to make a great one to land the role for the series.

Which is not unusual.

Hopefully she'll succeed and we'll have Quantum Leap back on our screens soon.

Will we see original series star Scott Bakula again?

Maybe. There have been talks but no deal has been made yet.
