Space Vampires

So the internet is abuzz with reports that Jennifer Lawrence regrets her Passengers role - the creepiest "romance" film we've ever seen - and that Adele advised her not to do it.

Did Adele not like the script? No.

Speaking to the New York Times Jennifer said:

Adele told me not to do it! She was like, ‘I feel like space movies are the new vampire movies.’

Love Adele.

Fabulous singer and in interviews seems like a wonderful person with a magnificent sense of humour.

Obviously our views on space films are worlds apart.

And vampire films are not all bad.

Although, Jupiter Ascending was released in January 2015 and Passengers began filming in September.

We've previously spoken about Jupiter Ascending feeling like an attempt to recreate the Twilight films in a space setting.

So could forgive Adele this one in that context.

Passengers?

If you're keen to see Chris Pratt's butt, it has that.

Also morbid curiosity value.

Romance films have historically promoted behaviours which would be regarded by most as unacceptable by modern standards.

But this film really ups the ante.

That it could be made in 2016 is incredible.

Even if you can tolerate the creep factor, Jennifer's character has a completely reasonable response to learning the truth about her partner.

Then some old man she doesn't know tells her to give "love" a chance, just before he dies.

Which apparently makes everything ok.

Seriously?

On the positive side, there's really just Chris Pratt's butt.

Passengers is streaming now on Prime Video.
