While this year's E3 was cancelled many game developers chose to showcase their work in June and Geoff Keighly's (of The Game Awards) Summer Game Fest was a popular digital venue.

A huge number of sci-fi game trailers came out of it. Far too many for us to comment on.

So we're just going to list them.

Interestingly the festival trailers seem to be predominantly for sci-fi properties with a just few for pure fantasy, which we've excluded.

Aliens Dark Descent - Cinematic trailer with a definitely Aliens vibe. The cassette recorder at the end is an odd touch.

Among Us - VR gameplay.

Flashback 2 - Reveal trailer for the 2.5D sequel to the 1992 platformer.

Fort Solis - Third person horror narrative gameplay trailer.

Goat Simulator 3 - Reveal trailer. Wasn't expecting this one to be sci-fi from its name but laser beams say otherwise.

Gotham Knights - DC action roleplaying game trailer for playable character Nightwing.

Highwater - Reveal trailer for post-apocalyptic exploration game in a world with higher sea levels.

Honkai Star Rail - Anime open world roleplaying game story trailer set in the Hoyoverse (i.e. Genshin Impact universe).

Layers of Fear - Horror game reveal trailer with one sequence showing retrofuturistic machinery, so there may be a sci-fi element to its story.

Marvel's Midnight Suns - Cinematic story trailer plus confirmation of the leaked October 7 release date. IGN have also published a video preview.

Nightingale - Gameplay trailer for open world survival, crafting, exploration, building and deck-building game in a fantasy / steampunk setting which spans different worlds traversed by portals.

One Piece: Odyssey - Anime roleplaying game trailer which doesn't look very sci-fi, except for a small smattering of technology like giant robots.

Outriders Worldrider - DLC trailer for Outriders co-operative multiplayer shooter.

Planet of Lana - 2D sidescrolling puzzle platformer gameplay.

Routine - First person horror reveal trailer where the horrors appear to be robotic.

Saints Row: Boss Factory - Trailer for a free to download character creator demo for their upcoming Saints Row reboot which is mostly set in a realistic present day setting but with some sci-fi elements. IGN have published a half hour video showcasing all of the customisation options, i.e. it's obviously quite robust.

Soul Hackers 2 - Reveal trailer for turn-based anime roleplaying game.

Stormgate - Cinematic reveal trailer for a free-to-play real time strategy game.

Super People - Battle royale in which you play a super-soldier with some super abilities to back up your big guns.

The Callisto Protocal - Survival horror extended gameplay trailer and also a gameplay demo.

The Last of Us Part 1 - Trailer for upcoming PS5 and PC remake of post-apocalyptic action adventure game The Last of Us.

TMNT Shredder's Revenge - Very old school (i.e. basic graphics) sidescrolling combat gameplay trailer.

Twilight Zone - VR gameplay.

Warframe: The Duviri Paradox - Announcement trailer for the next update for the online roleplaying shooter.

Warhammer 40K: Darktide - Extended looter shooter gameplay trailer.

Zenless Zone Zero - Third person action brawler set in the Hoyoverse (i.e. Genshin Impact universe). Character reveal trailer.
