The 2021 Game Awards included a healthy dose of wins for sci-fi titles.
There were also numerous new game reveals and trailers which we'll deal with separately.
Time-bending shooter Deathloop won Best Game Direction and Best Art Direction.
Another time-bender, Returnal, won Best Action Game.
Side-scrolling Metroid Dread won Best Action/Adventure Game.
Tales of Arise won Best Roleplaying Game. It's another sci-fi / fantasy with seemingly most of the sci-fi belonging to a world of evil oppressors. So maybe not a win for sci-fi?
Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy won Best Narrative.
Post apocalyptic sci-fi / fantasy Nier Replicant ver 1.22474487139 won Best Score and Music.
Life is Strange: True Colors won Game for Impact.
Sci-fi/fantasy multiplayer online roleplaying game Final Fantasy XIV won Best Ongoing Game.
