Perfectly timed to coincide with the launch of action roleplaying game Gotham Knights, though set in different universes, HBO have released the trailer for season 4 of Titans.

In the series, Nightwing / Dick Grayson (who also features in the game) is played by Australian actor Brenton Thwaites.

Joined by another former Home and Away actor, Teagon Croft, in the role of Raven / Rachel Roth.

We recognised Brenton when we started watching this one years ago but only just learned (thank you Wikipedia) that Rachel is also an Aussie.

Season two went a little silly for our tastes but three was better and we're keen to see season four.

Based on the trailer it looks like Lex Luthor and some mystical being are the big bads.

Said mystical being is Mother Mayhem - no idea who she is - played by Franka Potente of Run Lola Run fame.

She's very good.

The trailer also shows what appears to be a new Titan towards the end, holding a bo staff.

Gotham Knights has a staff wielding Robin, who is the third holder of the title. Is that who this is?

Indeed it is - Jay Lycurgo playing Tim Drake, who in the comics and game is bisexual.

DC might be also be improving their queer credentials with this one.

The game's fourth character, Red Hood / Jason Todd, left in season 3.

Here in Australia Titans is available on Netflix.

In the US season 4 premieres on November 3 so we'd expect it to arrive here in the not too distant future.
