Readers of our blog would know that we have a fuzzy relationship with vampires who straddle the fence between sci-fi and fantasy. Rather than trying to disentangle that we tend to take all comers.

Which brings us to a new comedy film starring Nicholas Hoult (multiple X-Men films), Awkwafina (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) and Nicholas Cage (Ghost Rider) in which lackey abuse inspires stake rather than strike action. See trailer.

It’s the real f*cking Dracula and he’s one sucky boss!

Count Dracula's lackey R. M. Renfield finds a new lease on life in modern-day New Orleans when he falls in love with Rebecca Quincy, a traffic cop, and decides to finally stand up to his creator in hopes of finally breaking free of his servitude.

Probably our most repeated complaint is that there's too much repetition in entertainment.

None of the gags in this trailer made us actually laugh but this might please as a fresh take on the Dracula story and an action film with comedic strokes.

Renfield premieres in Australian cinemas on May 25.
