Nominations for the 2nd Annual Critics' Choice Super Awards have been announced.
These are by the same people but separate from the Critics' Choice Awards for movies and Critics' Choice Television Awards. The Supers are just for action, horror, superhero, sci-fi and fantasy movies and TV series.
Winners will be announced on March 17.
Noteworthy Nominations
Australia's own Cate Blanchett was nominated for Best Actress in a Science Fiction/Fantasy Movie (Don't Look Up).
Congrats Cate!
While Doctor Who the series may have derailed and dropped in ratings, Jodie Whittaker's performance as The Doctor has been excellent and we're pleased to see her earn a Best Actress in a Science Fiction/Fantasy Series nomination.
Dune only picked up three nominations here but received ten nominations in the Critics' Choice Awards, putting it in tied second place there.
Don't Look Up picked up four nominations here and six in the Critics' Choice Awards.
Wandavision picked up five nominations here and four in the Critics' Choice Awards.
In the combined Best Science Fiction/Fantasy Movie category, five of the six nominations are for sci-fi.
Same for Best Science Fiction/Fantasy Series, though that includes Station Eleven which its book author and we agree isn't sci-fi.
Film Nominations
There weren't any sci-fi nominees in action categories but we've included them for the sake of completeness. They're the only category which doesn't.
Post apocalyptic alien invasion film A Quiet Place II earned multiple horror nominations.
