A trailer has been released for season 2 of alien takeover drama Invasion.

Not to be confused with Marvel’s recently released Secret Invasion, this series was inspired by War of the Worlds and follows an alien invasion of earth from the perspective of human characters around the world.

Season two is set four months after the initial alien onslaught began and it looks like humanity is either trying to communicate or fight back - possibly both.

Showrunners Simon Kinberg and David Weil are back and the returning principal cast will be joined by three new regulars.

Invasion season 2 premieres on Apple TV+ August 23.
