Eccleston on His Own

At Melbourne's Supanova the weekend before last - yes, sorry, we've been a bit slow getting to this one - Christopher Eccleston ruled out returning for a multi-story Doctor Who story because he regards them as creative exploitation. Cashing in.

Seeing stories run with his name and exploitation in the title immediately set off alarm bells given events surrounding his departure.

Doctor Who Retcons

When we saw this article in the newsfeed by Comic Book Resources:

Why Russell T Davies Won't Retcon the Timeless Child

we were rather surprised as earlier this week the BBC made a clear statement to the effect that the future of Doctor Who was not something they were ready to talk about. It was too far into the future:

Davies Under Fire

Russell T Davies is presently under fire in the media over remarks he made about UK Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries and it is being associated with Doctor Who.

For example, DailyMail have published an article titled:

Dr Who writer Russell T Davies launches a foul mouthed rant at new Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries and calls her a 'big f*****g idiot' after BBC nepotism comments.

To begin with, this incident has involved no direct communication between Davies and Dorries.
