Based on a book, did it not do it justice? Was this a case of non sci-fi lovers just not being able to understand and appreciate it? No.
In a pair of recent tweets Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis executive producer Brad Wright has seemingly confirmed the leaked reports of Amazon not proceeding with him or his script for their new Stargate series.
Instead, according to the same leaker, Amazon have engagedThe Expanse writers Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby.

Last November Ridley Scott revealed that a pilot had been written for a new Blade Runner series and in February Amazon announced it to be in development.
They've now given limited series Blade Runner 2099 the go signal.

We're going to step briefly but firmly outside of sci-fi to address Amazon's The Rings of Power, which we've done before in our show addressing anti-diversity sentiments as a general entertainment issue.
Amazon have temporarily suspended their rating system amidst concerns that it may be being review bombed but the reality of that is unclear.
YouTuber SCI-TREK has posted a new video claiming that Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby of The Expanse, Children of Men, Iron Man and Cowboys and Aliens, are being considered to write a proposal for a new Stargate series.
Like we said previously, we don't know if he's credible but this time he's said that if they are contracted to write a proposal, we will hear official confirmation of that within a few months.
