Stargate Prime Return

In the US only - sorry fellow Ozzies - Stargate is returning to Prime after departing late last year.

Here in Australia it launched on Amazon's new Prime Video Channels - MGM - at the same time and disappeared from Stan a few months later.

This development may be entirely meaningless for us down under, but we wonder if perhaps we and other regions might have been guinea pigs for this scheme.

Stargate is one of our absolute favourite shows, but paying for the MGM channel on top of Prime?

That's a big ask for two series we've watched many, many, many, many, many times.

Sure the MGM channel has other content but nothing we'd watch.

Meanwhile there's so much new sci-fi hitting our screens that we literally don't have time to see it all.

And Paramount's Pluto TV - free but requires a VPN to access from Australia - launched a dedicated Stargate channel with about half of both SG-1 and Atlantis.

If people aren't subscribing to MGM then Stargate would just be gathering dust.

Over on Prime it would be watched and helping to keep members subscribed.

Our fingers are crossed that Amazon are rethinking its home here in Australia.
