La Brea Renewed
Posted By:

Filmed in Australia sinkhole sci-fi drama La Brea isn't a show we'd call great. We couldn't make it through the first episode. Critics also don't love it.

But it continues to rate not terribly on US network television and in later streaming. Enough to be renewed for a third season.

Great news for fans of the show and the Victorian film / television industry into which the second season pumped $118 million (AU).

Though we don't enjoy this show ourselves it is proof that sci-fi can be popular and profitable.

Even kind of terrible sci-fi.

Clearly this show delivers something which a substantial number of viewers want to see, on a sustainable budget, so well done to the people who make it.

Though it is likely to be the final season and a shorter one courtesy of an expected writer's strike.

La Brea's first two seasons are streaming on 9Now.
