Looking Atomic
Posted By:

Nine minutes is pushing the bounds for a game trailer but the gameplay overview trailer for upcoming alternate history action roleplaying game Atomic Heart is excellent.

Looks stunning, informs without boring and leaves you eager to play it.

Dive into the story and the world of science that supposed to lead to a bright future, but... Now you have to stop the rise of the machines to prevent a catastrophe of all mankind. Get weapons, upgrade your skills, meet all the characters and see where it leads.

Most of the preview impressions we've seen are very positive except for some concern that it may be a bit on the short side, reported to be 25 hours plus.

There have been much shorter recent AAA titles, eg. The Callisto Protocol with 8 plus, but inevitable comparisons will be drawn between Atomic Heart and USA set retro-futuristic Fallout 4, which has a similar duration main campaign but a great deal of additional content.

Launching just 11 days after fantasy action roleplaying game Hogwarts Legacy which also has the benefit of the Harry Potter franchise, Atomic Heart might easily be overshadowed.

But its unique art style and setting could be a real attention grabber on the game streaming front and maybe also sales.

Atomic Heart releases on February 21 on PC, Xbox One and X|S, PS4 and PS5.
