A teaser has been released for the fourth spinoff series in The Walking Dead franchise.

Dead City is set in a post-apocalyptic Manhattan and follows fan-favourite Maggie as she travels to the big apple to search for her kidnapped son Hershel. Just to add a little drama she’s joined on her quest by Negan, the supposedly reformed leader of the Saviors.

The crumbling city has been cut off from the mainland and presents new challenges for Maggie and Negan amongst both dead walkers and the barely living.

Series creator and showrunner Eli Jorne is certainly familiar with the franchise, having produced a number of seasons of the original series.

The first season is only six episodes so may be something of a trial to see how much enthusiasm audiences have for more Walking Dead.

The Walking Dead: Dead City releases weekly on AMC in the US from June 18. We’ll keep you updated on availability in other territories.
