Picard Comes Home
Posted By:

By home our title means Paramount+ rather than the vineyard. They've reached a deal with Amazon to both stream the third season of Picard which begins February 17.

Previous seasons will also be available on the same date and joined later this year by Star Trek: Lower Decks.

Star Trek's streaming journey has not been the smoothest.

Funded by Netflix but made and controlled by Paramount Discovery was adored by critics but not fans, and its fourth season surprise exited Netflix the day before streaming.

Viewership numbers have never been made public for this show but would have been if not for the departure courtesy of the freshly launched Netflix Top 10 site.

In the US it returned to Paramount+ but their service wasn't global at that point so it took them a few weeks to recover and make alternative arrangements.

Feelings towards the modern era series vary but for those Trekkies who want to see it all, all being on a single service could be a welcome relief.

However, Prime Video and Paramount+ titles release at different times of day and here might work out to be opposite sides of our midnight, i.e. one day apart.

We'll have to see how that works out.

Star Trek: Picard's final season premieres on Prime Video on February 16 and the same or following day on Prime Video.
