Paramount have released the official trailer for season 2 of Picard, just a few days after announcing its premiere date (March 3).

We would say that it looks like they're trying to revisit one of The Next Generation's high points - its eloquent and poignant time jumping finale - except for the presence of Guinan.

Whoopie Goldberg is great and Guinan is a delightful character but her inclusion brings to mind a less successful time jumper, the Generations film.

Though it also looks like there are a few brief flashes of the Borg Queen, so maybe they're trying to revisit all the major time travel plots?

Season 2 of Picard premieres in Australia on Amazon Prime on March 3.
