Netflix have cancelled fledgling series The Imperfects. Its trailer looked genuinely promising but that may just be a testament to Netflix's trailer producers.

We thought the show so bad we couldn't even finish watching the first episode.

Really not surprised by this one.

Deadline report that it had a moderately strong opening but quickly bled viewers.

On Rotten Tomatoes only 4 critics have reviewed it - two positively, two negatively - but that's too few to generate a score.

One of its cast, Inaki Godoy will play the main character Monkey D. Luffy in Netflix's upcoming One Piece live-action series, and a recent reveal in their manga series shifted that franchise into sci-fi by our and many other people's measures.

The Imperfect's problem was writing rather than performances.

One Piece's writers, Steven Maeda and Matt Owens, come from Lost and Netflix's The Defenders and Luke Cage.

Netflix's Marvel series weren't all great but we enjoyed those two.

Though not entirely sold on thinking of One Piece as sci-fi, we are curious to see this series.
