Gotham Knights Gameplay

Warner Bros. have released a new gameplay trailer for Gotham Knights, featuring Nightwing (Dick Grayson) and Red Hood (Jason Todd). Also one for the pre-order Batcycle.

While this is our first time commenting on it here, we have been keeping a quiet eye on it for some time.

NFTs Belly Up?

The Wall Street Journal this week ran an article declaring that the NFT (non-fungible token) market has crashed and is flatlining. It's down by 90% on several measures from last November.

While we're not NFT fans and expressed contempt for the Matrix and Ubisoft forays into this new territory, we don't share the same sense of glee which is commonly being expressed because we unfortunately doubt that they're done and dusted.

Eve Online FPS 3.0

During this year's Eve Fanfest gathering in Iceland, Eve Online developer CCP announced that they're making a third attempt at a first-person shooter attached to their long-running space ship combat game.

Their first attempt Dust 514 didn't fully deliver on its promise and their second Project Nova was cancelled in development following a scathing PC Gamer pre-alpha demo preview.

US FTC Investigate Sony

Sony's proposed $3.6 billion (US) acquisition of game developer Bungie will be the subject of a US Federal Trade Commission anti-trust investigation.

When the deal was announced Bungie released a statement to the effect that their games, present (eg. Destiny 2) and future, would not become Sony (i.e. Playstation) exclusives but the FTC has doubts.

Netflix Interactive

That Netflix have designs on breaking into gaming is well known and they've already published a small collection of mobile games, but in the description for a newly announced animated kids title is the word we've been watching for.

Interactive.

Roddenberry Archive

While it's a bit of real sci-fi news blackhole so far this week - it just doesn't make sense to compete for attention with the likes of Star Wars (May the 4th celebration) and Marvel (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness cinema release) - Star Trek have thrown their hat into the ring and aren't giving up easily.

The 4th is With Us

This being May the 4th (as in, may the force with you), the Star Wars folk have dropped another trailer for upcoming series Obi-Wan Kenobi and also two character pack DLCs for recently released LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

The trailer is fine as trailers go but unlike their March teaser fails to evoke the Star Wars spirit.

Deus Ex Acquisition

Embracer Group, who more gamers might recognise from their previous name of THQ Nordic AB, have announced a deal to acquire Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montreal, and Square Enix Montreal.

The deal includes some major sci-fi titles like the action roleplaying Deus Ex series and Crystal's in development first-person shooter, Perfect Dark.

Starfield Dev Diary

Bethesda have published their third dev diary for upcoming sci-fi roleplaying game Starfield and this one is all about sound.

We found the first three minutes a yawn but it picked up once they started talking about the actual music and the process of making it.

Xbox & Bethesda Showcase

Following the full cancellation of this year's E3, Microsoft have announced that they will hold their own Xbox and Bethesda showcase on June 12 which will be streamed online.

Bethesda's Nasapunk roleplaying game Starfield is due to release later this year and doubtless will feature prominently in the show.
